Legendary

McDonald's Corp. is in talks with National Basketball Association stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to star in a remake of the classic "Nothin' but Net" commercials.

If this happens, Lebron and Wade would pick up where basketball greats Michael Jordan and Larry Bird left off. That "Showdown" series began with a 1993 Super Bowl spot. Jordan and Bird faced off in a friendly shooting match similar to "horse." The prize: M.J.'s Big Mac and fries.

For those who don't know . Bird and Jordan set up increasingly difficult shots, from shooting on one knee to shooting through a window, dropping from a skyscraper and going to hilarious extremes. The original spot is on all-time top-10 lists for many critics and observers.

This commercial is absolutely one of the best ever made. It was made when both Bird and Jordan were becoming legends of the game. While Lebron and Wade are very good, they are far from legends. Why can't they just continue the Bird vs.. Jordan showdown?

Here it is. (check out MJ's shirt. It looks more like the 80's, not the 90's)

Why does this sound very much like something Tony Kornheiser said a couple of days ago on PTI?

Maybe he copied me? We can't have the same opinion?

Yeah, Tony Kornheiser copied you Scott.

Joke? never had same opinion as someone before? Just reporting

Well, when your "opinion" is written a couple of days after a more famous and more knowledgeable person says pretty much the same thing, what conclusions do you expect people to draw?
April 19, 2007 | Unregistered CommenterNoScott
All blogs talk about other stories and opinions. If two people have "pretty much" the same opinion on a subject. It's ok. Think what you will, I do.
