Now I'm Scared Of Atlanta

Not because of their team, but because their only two fans made the worst music video I've ever seen since William Hung.

Thanks to Celt52034 for the tip. I think?

Here's the Hung video in case you're clueless.

Should Win This Thing

Posted on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 11:23AM by Registered CommenterScott (CEO) in , | CommentsPost a Comment | EmailEmail | PrintPrint

A few weeks back I showed you my favorite performance on Idol this season. It was "Hello" sung by David Cook. Now he has done it again with a sweet version of "Billie Jean". He should win this thing, which means he probably won't. Enjoy.

Hello

So far this year my favorite performance on American Idol was David Cook's version of Lionel Ritchie's Hello. I'm not sure if he'll win, but this was great. Here it is.

Jordin Wins!

Posted on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 04:37PM by Registered CommenterScott (CEO) in | CommentsPost a Comment | EmailEmail | PrintPrint

Well, Idol went out with a bang (a lonnnnng bang) last night with lots of great performances. Jordin came away the winner, deservingly so. She seemed to get better and better each week and has star quality. I think she's going to be a big star.

Although Jordin won, the performance of the night was by Blake and the original king of beat boxing Doug E Fresh (video below) doing "the show". It's amazing what they can do with their voices. When asked about it, Blake said:

"That was Doug E. allowing me to hang out with him onstage, and that was an honor. Forever etched in my brain. It was one of the hottest times I will ever have onstage. It was just a dream come true. Hopefully I'll get to get him in the studio, and we'll have to do, like, a beatbox track, you know? Get something really down.:

BuBye Melinda!!

Wahoo!!  Ding, Dong Melinda Doolittle, as you can tell I was not a fan of Melinda in fact every time she wasmelinda.jpg on I would just yell at the tv.  Not very adult like I know but she has bothered me from the start to the very end.  I am not disputing the fact that she can sing but her fakeness just bothered me.  Hey she made it to the final three and she will probably be better off in the long run but for now I am basking in the joy of her getting the boot.  So we have our final showdown all set for next week: Miss Jordin Sparks and my man Blake Lewis.  Jordin is incredible and only 17 years old but I just love Blake and think for once it is nice to have someone that sounds more current win.  I am also extremely excited to have Blake in the Idol pool at funwithpools.com so I'm really hoping that Blake can pull it out in the end because my bose sound dock has been missing an ipod!!

My final prediction for next week is (unfortunately) Jordin will win, and if not for the pool I am fine with that I actually for the first time like both finalist!!

Remix!

Bon Jovi was this week's theme and it was one of the best Idol shows they have ever had. They all were really good performances, (accept Jordin's) but Blake stole the show with an incredible remix of "You Give Love A Bad Name". He makes everything much more interesting by mixing in his beat boxing. I liked it so much, I'm buying the single. HERE IT IS.

Sanjaya to Boston and beyond

Posted on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 09:35AM by Registered CommenterScott (CEO) in , | CommentsPost a Comment | EmailEmail | PrintPrint

Now that Sanjaya (the worst ever singer to make final 12) has been eliminated, everyone is wondering whatidolsancry.jpg will he do now? Well, first he'll get a bodyguard. (really)

"I'm definitely going to hire a bodyguard. I'm looking into that right now."

Then he'll party with the Prez. The Washington Post is reporting that he'll attend the White House Correspondents dinner.

People magazine has snagged Sanjaya as its guest for the annual gathering between Bush, the media and Washington luminaries. Sanjaya will be joined at People's table by Tim Gunn and Valerie Bertinelli, as well as Zac Efron and Eddie Izzard. Says the Washington Post: "All we know so far: That he'll be seated at the dinner with his mom, and that the 17-year-old is expected to make the scene at least one of the glitzy after-parties. Still unknown: Whether he'll wear the faux-hawk, the slicked-back 'do, or a Shirley Temple look."

He also hopes on coming here to Boston for college.

"My dream would be to go to Berklee School of Music."

I'm sure there were lots of people doing this on Wednesday night when he finally got the boot!

Simon nails it!

Posted on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 11:02AM by Registered CommenterScott (CEO) in , | CommentsPost a Comment | EmailEmail | PrintPrint

Last night on Idol Simon was on fire. finally nailing Sanjaya hard and telling Doolittle to stop her surprise "oh me?" act. While Simon was dead on, Ryan seemed off jumping to Sanjaya's defense and not others.

Here is Sanjaya's performance which is his worst yet, which says a lot since they're all terrible. Listen to Simon and watch how Ryan defends him like they're best friends.

Here is Sanjaya from last week, where just like Simon said "It wasn't horrible". This makes Ryan defending him this week all the more bizarre.

Here is Doolittle's performance and Simon telling her not to be surprised.

Why didn't Ryan jump to Lakisha's defense here, like he did for Sanjaya?

Thoughtz on Idol

Posted on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 08:01PM by Registered CommenterJamie Ryan in | CommentsPost a Comment | EmailEmail | PrintPrint

All right so it is Tuesday night and the Sox have already won, so it is a good day. Since the Sox are done for the day, it allows me to focus strictly on everyone's favorite show, that no one says they watch but everyone does, American Idol. As much as everyone denies it, everyone loves American Idol. So here is diary of tonight's show. Hey if Simmons can doing a running diary, so can I.

Here we go......

Top 8, can we believe we are here already, and guess what? We just found out that tonight is Latin Night!!! What the hell is that? Who is going to be the first to sing La Bamba???

How gay is Ryan Seacrest? I mean come on. He makes Elton John look straight.

Not only is it Latin Night but the special guest is Jennifer Lopez. That is right the one and only Jenny from the block. Do you think their will be enough room on the TV for J Lo's ass and Simon's ego???

First up, Melinda Doolitte. Instead of Doolittle, it should be DooBIG!! The poor girl is all face, no neck, just 1 big face. I have no idea what this crappy song is. I am guessing I will be saying that a lot tonight.  Someone wake me when the song is over. This is BORING!!!! The two meaningless judges liked it, I thought it sucked, but what the hell do I know? Thank God for Simon. He didn't like it and he is right.

Next... Lakisha. I think she has reached the point where she only is going by one name. After seeing her, I think she just came from turning tricks on the street. What are those size F's? My GOD. She should have to hid those things. There are kids watching. The song is OK. One of the only Latin songs I think I know. The Dawg liked it, Paula thought she looked lovely, which is the kiss of death, but didn't like it, and Simon agreed with Paula. That is a shocker.

Now it is Chris Richardson. What the hell is up with the scarf? I think he is trying to get the gay vote. Since when is Robb Thomas Latin? I think I am realizing that I hate Latin music. I think he is wearing my Member's Only jacket from when I was 12. Paula is up dancing. You can so tell she want to bang him, if she hasn't already. Dawg thought it was cool. Paula almost threw herself on him. And Simon thought is was the best so far. I thought it sucked.

Haley Skankato is up next. She is looking for the boys 14-18 vote. I think she put her make up with a paint brush. She is kind of cute but she can't sing at all. How long before she is in Maxim? Where do you think Antonella is right now? I am guessing Playboy by the summer. Haley sucked!! Paula said she had fun up there. What the hell does that mean? Once again Simon hit it right on the head. She is wearing less and less clothes each week. Next week I am think she comes on with just pasties and a thong!!!

Here comes the guy who looks like a cancer patient, Phil Stacey. He looks like he is coming right from the hospital to sing. Is anyone believing the whitest man on the planet can sing Latin music. More Crap. Someone kill Maria and put her out of her misery. At least the guy playing the guitar is good. Another OK boring performance. The shows sucks so far.

Good news: House is on next. If I ever get sick, take me to see House. The guy cures everyone.

Who decided Latin music would be a good theme. What's up for next week? Opera?

After the break Jordin Sparks. I don't care what she looks like, I will not call her a Nappy Headed Ho. I promise. This should be called Gloria Estefan night. Everyone is singing her songs because that is the only Latin artist people know. This girl can sing. I think she ends up winning. With that said, I am bored. Have I mentioned that Latin music sucks????? Good news, she is on blast. What the hell does that mean? Can someone translate what Randy is saying for me? I feel like Varitek when Dice K is talking to him.

Now up, Blake. Is there any doubt he got his ass kicked in High School all the time? Blake is number 7. You know what that means. The one and only Sunjaya is closing the show. Who could ask for anything better. Blake = boring. Don't get me started on Latin music again. Blah, Blah Blah. The judges liked it, I don't know if I did or not as I think I fell asleep.

I am holding my breath waiting for Sunjaya. This guy cracks me up.

The Hair tonight = normal. That is disappointing but who drew the facial hair on him? Someone turn up his mike. I can barely hear him. ZZZZZZ. More boring crap. When is House on? The Dawg liked it. Simon didn't hate it. That is an upset.

All in all a pretty boring night. Poor Paula just wants to leave so she can grab a drink and try and bang Chris. I can't believe no one sang La Bamba. I am disappointed. My prediction is that Phil Stacey goes home. That is probably the best so, he can go home and continue his chemo therapy treatments.

The hunger strike for Sanjaya is over already. I think this is a weak, weak effort on her part, you started it, you finish it!

The Hair

Okay, so I basically fell off my couch laughing last night as I watched Sanjaya. This is now becoming a comedy show. He is such a loser. I can not believe he did that with his hair and what the hell whas he singing. OMG! He needs to be voted off tonight. You know I immediately called Tina at Boston Sportz desk when I saw him. Give it up Sanjaya.

I do have this weird feeling he is going to win...

Sanjaya is everywhere

To prepare yourself for another dreadful performance from Sanjaya tonight on Idol. I thought I'd make you laugh before he makes you cry by showing the SNL skit from last week.

Or if really hate him, you could starve yourself like this girl!

Crying game

idolCRY.jpg
Ok as Tina mentioned last night who was that girl they kept showing balling her eyes out. Like Simon, I figured she was crying because Sanjaja Sucks. Well, first there were rumors she was a planted actress Morgan York. Turns out she's just an obsessed 13 year old teeny bopper Ashley Ferl, from Riverside. Her mother said they obtained tickets on a website to attend a taping of “Smarter Than a 5th Grader” a day passage that included not just the taping of the show itself, but also the dress rehearsal of either “Grader” or “Idol.” and the mother and daughter found their way to the “Idol” rehearsal, where Ashley began crying. Idol producers noticed and hooked them up with great seats to the final taping.

Ashley revealed that while she was on stage she had been thinking that “this was the coolest thing ever.” Asked whom she was supporting in the competition she named “Sanjaya, Melinda, Gina and Jordin” as her picks, refusing to narrow her vote down to a single choice.

There is no doubt we have not seen the last of her on Idol. Yes, Sanjaya was fun, but still awfullllll!

Idol Madness!

Alright, I cannot believe they kept showing the crying girl.  The first time was a little crazy that she would be that upset, but to keep showing her over and over again is just plain wrong!!  She looks like she may be a bit special needs and they just kept beating into the ground.  Enough was enough but they apparently didn't think so because then they asked her her name (Ashley).  Every time they showed her all I can picture(and you heard it here first) was Amy Poeler on Saturday Night Live performing it as a skit this weekend!  Sometimes you truly just can't make this stuff up!!

Say What?

rent.jpgOkay Idol fans..enough is enough. So as a child I used to spend my summer days putting on concerts for my parents and neighbors. (DORK). I was hoping to be the future American Idol and part of me still hopes to be someday or be lead role in the Broadway play Rent. Well I think I can dream but I am way to old to get started on that career path now. Anyway, my point is I think I was a better singer at 5 in my back yard than Sanjaya will ever be. What the hell is up with America? Is America hearing impaired...(Bad use of context here since given the work I do but I had to say it. I can not even believe this. He is the worst on the show and he is still around. I am so fired up. Let me tell you Sanjaya fans......GIVE IT UP! STOP CALLING!

As for the rest of the contestants. Melinda Doolittle has to give up her act. She know she is a good singer so quit the bull shit. Lakisha Jones you are SMOKIN'......Anti-social.

Amazing Idol thoughtz!

As with everyone else (who at least have taste) I can't believe Sanjaya is still on.  Even more importantly IDOLmowgli3.gifwhat is up with the dude's hair!!!  Are ya kidding me, Rosie O'Donnell says the reason he keeps getting on is that he looks like Mowgli from the Jungle book.  He also reminds me of the gay nephew on Ugly Betty.  That being said he doesn't annoy me as much as Melinda Doolittle (the back up singer).  She knows she can sing but inevitably every time someone says one thing good about her she just breaks down.  She looks like she is 50 and she's only 29!!  Her fake insincerity is not going to win her votes, she also has a stylist and a publicist already.  She does not need to win to do well and I frankly hope she doesn't!!!  I hope Chris Sligh puts his glasses back on the look last night was not good.  Well we'll all have to see who America votes in tonight and vent here tomorrow!  On to Amazing Race, my favorite team Romber got the boot on Sunday night.  I am not happy, I actually don't know what they will talk about for the rest of the show seeing how everyone was so concerned with them!!  These all stars are just plain boring and I don't even know who I will pull for, Rob and Amber screwed this up it should have been theirs for the taking!

What if Sanjaya wins?

Posted on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 10:35PM by Registered CommenterScott (CEO) in | Comments1 Comment | EmailEmail | PrintPrint

sanjaya_malakar.jpgBefore I begin, I'd like to welcome my newest blogger here at BostonsportZ, Kylie Donovan who will be covering American Idol. Kylie is an Idol expert as she's tried out twice for the show. She'll begin later this week.

Ok, As I was watching Idol tonight as most all of them were horrible, I thought, What if Sanjaya wins?  Possibly the worst finalist ever. We would have major issues. It could potentially destroy the "American Idol" competition, The most popular show on TV viewed by over 32 million people could see it's end.  Well sites like votefortheworst.com could make this happen.

When "Extra," asked Simon about a Sanjaya win. "Let me tell you this," Simon said. "He's not going to win. I won't be back if he does."

But really, if  LaKisha Jones nor Melinda Doolittle doesn't win? There will be outrage!

Are you kidding me??

He is just awful. So no Office tonight and now I am even more furious because of the American Idol results.. especially the guys. Sundance just had the wrong song but Sanjaya has it all wrong.
